Why does Kids Kit not rent out car seats?

This answer is simple. For the safety of your child!

At Kids Kit we prioritise your child’s comfort and safety in every product that we have on offer. When it comes to car seats, especially rental car seats, we cannot guarantee the quality or condition of the seat and thus your child’s safety. Even if its looks perfect to the naked eye, underneath it may be structurally damaged and we cannot take any risks with your child safety.

At Kids Kit we have decided not to offer a rental car seat offering on this important safety basis.

Every time a seat leaves the original purchasing store, it’s impossible to understand the journey it has been on. It could have been dropped, in a crash, crushed or even just incorrectly stored. We are not saying that they are all like that but without this Information we cannot comfortably offer our customers a seat that we have no knowledge about.

Please take extra care when renting a car seat from any hire company, you have no knowledge of how many times they have been used, crashed or even been dropped. The rental agent may not know this answer either! It is not worth risking your child’s life and having to pay through the odds for the privilege.

Would you put your child in a car seat that’s previously been in a car crash or dropped?

We wouldn’t either! However, we do have two solutions for you.

We have partnered with the team at the Pram Centre in Inverness to offer our customers brand new, in box, car seats for your use in Scotland. This seat would be purchased by the hirer directly from the store but it can be transported and installed by the team at Kids Kit. Allowing you full knowledge that your new car seat is 100% safe for use. Plus you’ll get 10% off the total cost price just for being one of our amazing customers.

Once you have finished your journey, we can assist with shipping your new car seat home anywhere in the world or have it placed into secure storage* for your next visit. Making it easy to use and keep after your rental period has ended.
